Hi, I'm Zoey. My pronouns are she/her. I'm a full-stack developer with a sweet spot for UX design.

I focus on creating accessible and performant end products that centre around creating the best possible experience for the end user.

I'm always busy learning new skills and hardening my knowledge of the field so that I can deliver even better end results.

Outside of work and school, I focus on learning new skills and driving change within my local communities and friend groups.

  • MyParcel

    Intern

    Feb 2023 - Jul 2023

    During my internship, I was responsible for migrating the internal software from MyParcel over from a legacy framework to Vue JS. Furthermore, I improved the automated testing strategy to have a user-centred implementation.

  • Yummygum

    Front-end Developer

    Mar 2019 - Present

    During my time at Yummygum I have worked on a variety of different projects. I have worked with several technologies and frameworks including NextJS, TypeScript, SCSS, React, Gatsby and more. I was also responsible for converting over our boilerplate to Bit.cloud. I'm also responsible for our server management, which includes keeping our Ubuntu server up to date, managing the NGINX config and other server maintenance.

    Intern - Front-end developer

    Sep 2018 - Feb 2019

    During my internship at Yummygum I worked with React, Gatsby, Javascript, SCSS. I also worked with React Native and React Native Web to develop a shared experience accross mobile apps and web. I primarily worked on the internal project Jollycons, for which I animated SVG's using JavaScript.

    Intern - Front-end developer

    Feb 2018 - Jul 2018

    During my Internship at SwitchBay I was responsible for improving the front-end of the digital marketplace. I also worked on adding several new features to the admin dashboard. Including adding logic that allows the finance department to see the total sales that happened over a period of time. During my internship I worked with JavaScript, NodeJS, React and IndexedDB.

  • Front-end development

    I have several years of experience creating pixel perfect front-end experiences. Using a range of tools and frameworks.

  • Performance

    I deeply care about creating an experience that is as fast as possible for the end user. Over the years I have gained the experience to reduce the loading times by a significant margin.

  • Back-end development

    Over the years I have made several back-end systems, primarily for private projects using NodeJS. At Yummygum I pionered the creation of a secure staging environment which uses PostgresSQL, KeystoneJS, Prisma and NodeJS.

  • UX Design

    With everything I make, I try to really focus on the end user. What is the goal they are trying to achieve and how can I make this process as clear as possible to them.

  • E-commerce, design, and the LGBTQIA+ community

    A research paper written with my fellow student Guido van Dijk, which dives into E-commerce sites, particularly fashion sites and the changes they could make to create a more inclusive feeling for the LGBTQIA+ community.
